Quick polls provide instructors to collect real-time feedback from participants without any prior preparation. Instructors can simply ask the question verbally or post a question in a file or a screen that is being shared.

### Launching a Quick Poll

1. Select the **Quick Poll** icon at the top of the screen.

2. Select your preferred poll type from the drop-down menu that best fits the question you are asking.

### Replying to a poll question

Click the answer option in the poll that best reflects your response to the question posed by the instructor or moderator.

Here are some examples of the student/participant view:

### Viewing real-time poll results

Instructors/moderators will be able to view the poll results coming in as participants respond to the poll.

Here are some examples of the polling results from the instructor/moderator perspective:

### Sharing and ending a poll

When you are ready to end the poll, you can decide whether or not to share the results with your students/participants. Quick Poll is anonymous by default, which means students/participants do not see what others have answered, and only the instructor/moderator can share the poll result.

Sharing results will also end the poll.

1. Click **Share Results** in the quick poll.
2. Quick poll results are now visible. Dismiss the poll by clicking the **x.**

or

Click **End** to stop the poll without sharing the results.

### Accessing and reviewing Quick Poll results

Although the quick poll statistics and results remain anonymous to students and participants, instructors or moderators have the ability to access the students’ or participants’ quick poll answers or selections by navigating to [smart.newrow.com](https://smart.newrow.com/).

If you wish to conduct a poll that ensures the anonymity of students/participants responses, you can select **Anonymous Mode **(see Quick Poll Settings). This option will not only hide the responses from students/participants but also from you as the instructor/moderator.

1. Select a room (or course).
2. Select the Quick Polls tab.
The Quick Polls tab displays the following poll results from the room:
 1. Name
 2. Session ID
 3. Time
 4. Poll Type
 5. Anonymous
 6. Participants
 7. Answers Counted
3. Click on a student’s or participant’s **Name** to display their responses.

### Quick Poll settings

1. On the top row, click the three dots menu and select **Settings**.
2. The **Settings** window (Device Settings tab) will appear.
3. Click the **Quick Poll Settings **tab.
4. Select **Anonymous Mode** if you would like to hide the responses from both your students and yourself.
5. Choose your target audience.

- To perform a poll to which only participants/students can respond (and not teachers/hosts), select **Non Moderators Only**.
- To perform a poll to which all participants except the person launching the poll can respond (which is the default setting), select **All Participants But The Triggering Host**.

Click **Close**.
