# Updates:
**April 27, 2025: Scheduled Maintenance:**
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the security and reliability of our digital infrastructure, **pâskwâwi-mostos mêskanâs** will be unavailable on **April 27th, 2025 **from** 7:00-10:00 am**. During this time all courses, gradebooks, and assignment submissions in mêskanâs will be unavailable.

**April 28, 2024:** We would like to inform you about an upcoming change in our cloud hosting services that will temporarily affect the Learning Management System (pâskwâwi-mostos mêskanâs). As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the security and reliability of our digital infrastructure, we will be moving our cloud-hosted services to a new MacEwan-managed cloud environment. There will be no changes to anything in your courses, including content, course data, or grades. The user experience in mêskanâs will remain the same.
mêskanâs will be unavailable during this process. This timeframe has been chosen to minimize disruptions and reduce any inconvenience. The outage is expected to last up to 24 hours; during this time mêskanâs will be unavailable.

- **What you need to do**: Please plan your online activities with mêskanâs accordingly. Refrain from scheduling exams and other online activities during this time.

- **June 28, 2023: **paskwâwi-mostos mêskanâs (mêskanâs)** **will be getting an upgrade! The purpose of this upgrade is to ensure this application’s platform will continue to receive security and feature updates allowing mêskanâs to be more accessible and easier to use on mobile devices.
- Changes include:
- User Navigation, though the general structure and function of existing courses, will not change.
- Activities in courses will align to the left margin without any indentation. More information concerning this change will be made available shortly.
- Out-of-date Quickmail will be removed. Alternatively, student email groups can be managed outside of mêskanâs via Outlook.

**May 2023**: Pearson MyLab & Mastering will be replaced with Pearson LTI. Please refer to this Help Centre article: **[New Pearson LTI](https://macewan.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ETS/pages/1875247897)**
- **Gradebook Update: Default Letter Grade Change**
MacEwan's default letter grade mapping has been changed to add the **A+** mark. Faculty who use the letter grade in mêskanâs can edit the gradebook to include this new mark. For more information, **[click here](https://macewan.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ETS/pages/1876426800)****.**
> ⚠️ Please Note: Some courses will be in progress during the **June 28th upgrade**. Faculty who are instructing these courses will be contacted by the Centre for Teaching and Learning with tips to help minimize class disruptions.
