### Sponsors (MacEwan staff and faculty) can request that an External Guest (any person not registered with MacEwan) be granted access to MacEwan University’s Digital Learning Environment: **[paskwâwi-mostos mêskanâs](https://meskanas.macewan.ca/my/)**.


1. To do so, the Sponsor must begin by filling out a POI (person of interest) form on behalf of the External Guest. The Sponsor can locate the PIO form through their MacEwan **[myportal ](http://myportal.macewan.ca)**under ***Forms and Procedures ***and then*** Forms Cabinet***.

2. In the ***POI Type Description***** **section of the form, the Sponsor must select either ***Academic Guest*** or ***Faculty Pre-Hire (mêskanâs)*** before filling out the remainder of the form and clicking ***Submit***.

3. After the form has been submitted, **Human Resources** will approve the request and then notify the Sponsor via email.

4. The External Guest will receive a separate email of approval containing a **MacEwan ID** and instructions for setting up a **new password**.

> ℹ️ **Please Note: **If the External Guest does not receive an email within 72 hours after approval, they should contact** Tech Support** and request a password reset: **[Tech Support](https://www.macewan.ca/campus-life/technology-support/contact-information/)**.

5. The External Guest should then provide their new MacEwan ID to their Sponsor who can add them to the course: **[Enrolling Users](https://macewan.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ETS/pages/1791033426)**.

6. With their new MacEwan ID and password, the External Guest can now directly access the MacEwan learning management system (**[paskwâwi-mostos mêskanâs](https://meskanas.macewan.ca/my/)**), login as*** MacEwan User***,** **and visit the portal (**[myportal](https://myportal.macewan.ca/staff/)**).
