### If the network connection is lost while students are taking a quiz, this may cause students to lose already-entered answers. To reduce the risk of students losing multiple answers saved in the quiz, faculty are recommended to have separate pages for each question.

### To create a separate page for each question:

## New Quiz

1. Go to paskwâwi-mostos mêskanâs and select the course you wish to edit. Then, in the upper right hand corner, turn on*** Edit mode***.

2. In the course syllabus, select ***Add an activity or resource***.

3. Please select ***Quiz***.

4. When filling out the quiz information, please scroll to the bottom and select the ***Layout ***setting.

5. In the **Layout** setting, chose the*** Every question ***option. (By selecting a new page for*** Every question*** the students are less likely to lose the majority of their work if there is a network error.)

6. Please scroll to the bottom of the quiz page and select ***Save ***to finish editing. 

**To edit an existing quiz, please see section below.**


## Edit Existing Quiz

There are three options to create separate pages for each question of an existing quiz. You can choose whichever option that works best for you:

1. **[Edit Settings option](#settings)**
2. **[Edit Quiz option](#quiz)**
3. **[Group-Together Questions](#group)**

#### **1. Edit Settings:**

a) Go to the existing quiz and turn on ***Edit mode***.

b) Select ***Settings ***and scroll down to ***Layout***. If you had already selected ***Every question ***then no further editing is required as the quiz is set to have each question on a separate page.

If you have selected any other option, please select the*** Every question ***option and the ***Save and Display ***at the bottom of the page. > Macro (anchor)

> ℹ️ If this quiz had already been attempted, the **Layout **section would appear as follows (without the checkbox to repaginate). Please know that you can still repaginate the quiz through ***Edit settings*** even if the quiz has already been attempted.

#### **2. Edit Quiz: **

a) Another option you can use to edit a quiz after its creation is by returning to the quiz and selecting ***Questions***.

b) Then select ***Repaginate***.

c)  This opens the message box where you can select how many questions per page. Ensure this number is** 1**.

d) Please select ***Save***. > Macro (anchor)

> ℹ️ If the quiz has already been attempted, you cannot repaginate the quiz through ***Edit quiz ***as the ***Repaginate ***button will be grey and unclickable.

#### **3. Group-Together Questions:**

a) For questions that need to be grouped together, page breaks can be added/removed using the icons to the left of the questions.

> ℹ️ If the quiz has already been attempted, you cannot group-together questions of an attempted quiz in ***Questions*** section as the page break icons are no longer available.
