The activity block allows easy access to links to all assignments, forums, lessons, wikis, resources, databases, and choices that add to the course. The more items and sections added to the course, the more difficult it is for students to find what they need.

## How to add the Activities Block

1. With the course editing turned on, navigate to the top-right corner and click the arrow.

5. The activities block will appear once added. The Activities block will show **Assignments**, **External tools, Forums**, **Glossaries, H5P, Quizzes, Resources**, and more. Elements like **books**, **files**, **folders**, **IMS Content packages**, and images will populate under **Resources**. These categories are links to a menu that reveals the location of these items. Clicking on **Resources**, for example, will bring up a list of all resources that have been added to the course.

## Permissions and Appearance

1. To check permissions (who has access) to the block by selecting **Check permissions** from the three-dot menu.

2. Click on the user from the list, or search in the search bar, and click **SHOW THIS USER’S PERMISSIONS**.

3. The next screen will show their access level. This is more useful if wanting to limit the access to edit for other teachers in the course. By default, students will only be able to view the Activities block.
