## Find the Content to Import> Macro (anchor)
> ℹ️ **Note**: Content can only be imported from a course where the user has a teacher role. If you are importing material from a course where a user is not listed with a teacher role, you should either request access to the course or ask the enrolled instructor in the course to back up the relevant material, transfer it, and then restore it to the course. Refer to the *Copy a Course – Backup and Restore* document for more information about this process.
In the destination course (the course you want to copy content into), click Edit mode in the top-right corner. On the top menu, click on **More**. From the drop-down menu, select **Course reuse**.
On the next page, select the **Import**.
Select the source course to import data from by selecting the radio button next to the course name. If the source course is not listed, search for it in the **Search courses** box by entering the course name. Then, choose **Import** from the drop-down menu in the top-left corner. Click **Continue** once the source course is selected.
On the **Import settings** screen, uncheck the resource types you do not want to import. Choices can be refined later. Always be sure to uncheck **Include question bank**. It has the potential to create future problems, since the entire question bank will be transferred every time you do this. If you want to transfer a quiz from one course to another, follow the instructions in the **Copying Quizzes from One Course to Another** document.
As recommended above, uncheck **the "Include question bank" option**. See the explanation of each checkbox.
The **Include activities and resources** is the most likely, and often only, content type to be checked.

If importing certain activities (as opposed to everything of a particular content type(s)), click **Next**.
The next screen will offer the option to select which specific activities to transfer. If there are only a few activities to import, you are less likely to make a mistake if you first click **None (Show type options)** to deselect everything on the screen. Then, go through the list and add the specific items to import.
Scroll down and find the activity (or activities) to import. Select the **Section** and the activity (or activities) to import.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click **Next**.
The next screen gives the final opportunity to review choices. When ready, click **Perform Import**.
This screen shows the successfully imported activity (or activities) into the destination course. Click **Continue** to return to the course. > Macro (anchor)
# Finding Imported Material
mêskanâs places the activities it imports in the same relative section(s) as in the source course.
In the example in this tutorial, the imported activity was in Topic 4 in the source course. As a result, it was placed in Topic 4 in the destination course.
To move the activity (or activities) to a different section, drag them with the move pointer.
# Moving Large Numbers of Select Activities Efficiently
If importing large numbers of activities, here is the recommended procedure:
1. In both the source and destination courses, create a new topic. Place the new topics at the top of the main page in both courses (i.e., create a new “Section 1” in both courses).
2. In the source course, drag all the activities to import into the newly created Section 1. This ensures that all activities are placed in Section 1 of the destination course.

4. After performing the import, open Section 1 in the destination course and, if desired, drag the imported activities into the section(s).
5. If moving all imported activities out of the newly created topic Section 1, it can be safely deleted.
