## Saving SCORM packages
Locate the original file and save it as SCORM 1.2 in the program in which the SCORM was initially created. The SCORM package must be saved as SCORM 1.2 for the SCORM to run correctly. SCORM 2004 will not work.
### For saving Storyline packages**:**
With the Storyline project open, click **File** and select **Publish**. Select the **LMS** tab.
Under Reporting and Tracking, check the box next to **Report to an LMS** and select** SCORM 1.2 **from the drop-down menu.** **Then** **click** Publish **at the bottom.
### **For graded SCORM packages in Articulate**
Open the original file in the program in which it was created. For Rise packages:
1. Open from the Rise 360 dashboard and click Export in the upper-right corner of the screen. Choose **Web** from the **Export Type** drop-down list.
2. Click **Export** in the upper right corner again to generate a zip file.
3. Click **Back to Course** in the upper-right corner to continue working while Rise 360 generates a zip file. When ready, an email notification will be sent with a download link. (For a small course, it may immediately be prompted to download the zip file before having a chance to go back to the course editor. Just choose a location on the computer and click **Save**.)
4. Click the download link in the notification email, then click **Download Course** on the webpage that opens. Choose a location on the computer and click **Save**.
### **For Adobe Captivate packages**
1. With the Captivate project open, click **File** and select **Publish Settings**.
2. Under Category, select **Quiz**.
3. On the top, click the checkbox next to **Quiz** to **Enable reporting** for this project. It will not be able to export a SCORM package from Captivate without enabling this.
4. Next, select Moodle from the LMS drop-down menu, right under the quiz checkbox. From the standard drop-down menu, choose **SCORM1.2.**
There are various other options to select, but they are highly dependent on how the quiz is set up and how it is set up for the quiz to report to the LMS. Once finished, click **OK**.
5. Click **File** and select **Publish**.
6. Next to **Output Format,** ensure that **HTML5 is selected** and **SWF is not selected**. Then click **Publish.**
Once the SCORM package is loaded, a grade will be sent to the gradebook.
If Captivate was used to build the SCORM, go to the Grade tab and select **learning objects** from the grading method. This grading method will only be used when it is not set in the SCORM. The gradebook will show completed/passed Learning Objects for the activity.
## Uploading SCORM package
### For graded SCORM packages**:**
1. Once the SCORM 1.2 is zipped, go to the activity chooser, select SCORM package in mêskanâs, and drag and drop the SCORM package as a zip file.
2. Add the Activity Name and Activity Description. Drag and drop the .zip package into **Package file **and click on the zip file.
3. In the edit window, click **Unzip **the file.
4. Locate and select the **story.html** file.
5. Then click **save and display** or **save and return to course**.
## For ungraded SCORM packages**:**
1. Once the file has been saved through Export Web-Only Output, go to the activity chooser in mêskanâs, select **File**, and drag and drop the SCORM package as a zip file.
2. Add the Activity Name and Activity Description. Drag and drop the .zip package into **Select files **and click on the zip file.
3. In the edit window, click **Unzip **and** **then** Update**.
4. A new folder will be added to the **Select files**. Click on this folder first.
5. Click on **story.html** and click on **Set main file**.
6. The** story.html **file will be highlighted as the main file for the folder.
7. In the **Appearance** setting, change the display to **Embed.**
8. Then click** save and display** or** save and return to course**.
### Apply display settings to the SCORM package
Under **Appearance** is where the display settings are set.
> ℹ️ **Note**: if choosing to open the SCORM in a new window, pop-ups must be allowed on the student’s browser for the SCORM to open.
If the SCORM package is designed with a table of contents, click Yes next to **Display course structure on entry page**.
Under **Display attempt status** is the display summary of the student's attempts on the entry page, dashboard page, or both. This can help the student see their status when working through the SCORM or if there is a troubleshooting issue.
For additional settings, click **Show more**. Under **Show more**, the window has options to be resized, scrolled, display directory links, location bar, menu bar, toolbar and/or status.
If the user attempts the SCORM in preview mode, the grade will display, but it will be hidden from the gradebook. To hide the preview button option, click **Yes** under **Disable preview mode**.
