## General

Type in a folder **Name**.

To share some information about the file before students open it, add the information in the **Description** text box. Also, select the tick box under the description.

# Content

To add a file to the folder, you can either drag and drop the file into the Files box or use the file picker to select a file from a location on your computer.

Creating subfolders by clicking on the **Create folder** icon is also possible. Once the folder (or subfolder) is created, you can drag and drop files into it, or select the check box beside it and then click the file picker to select a file.

It is possible to create subfolders (folders within folders) at least three levels deep.

The final option in the **Content** menu sets how students see the folder(s) you create. The **Inline on a course page** option presents the folder(s) directly on the course page. The **On a separate page** option connects students to a separate, intermediate page before they see the folder(s).

**Note:** folders must be created within your course, and then files must be uploaded into those folders. Uploading an existing folder from your computer will not work. It is possible, however, to select and drag and drop several files from the computer into a folder simultaneously.

## Reordering files within folders

Once files are uploaded, you can sort them by **Name**, **Last modified**, **Size**, or **Type**.

To choose the order to display the files, open the folder in Edit mode, then click on the middle icon to show file details.

Click **Name**, **Last modified**, **Size**, or **Type** to sort the folders.

To sort the files in a different order, change the file names by numbering them. Start by clicking on the name of the file to change. Add a number before the file name in the dialogue box that appears. This will allow the files to be sorted in any order. For numbers below 10, start with a leading zero. The files are now ordered according to the numbers at the beginning of the file names.

## Common Module Settings

The only option to consider is the **Common module settings** is **Availability**, which can also be set on the main course page.

## Tags

The standard **Tags** options can be applied.

When finished, click **Save and display** at the bottom of the page.
