The Latest Announcements block allows you to put the most recent class announcements in a prominent place on the students’ mêskanâs pages. The announcements are first made in the Announcements forum, which is installed by default in the General section of new mêskanâs courses. 

> ℹ️ Note: The Latest Announcements block is a reposting of the same information shared in the Announcements forum, not a way to share new information.

Announcements are taken from here and reposted in the Latest announcements block.

## Setup

Turn **Edit mode** on in the top-right corner of the main course page.

Now open the right arrow tab on the main mêskanâs page. 

Next, select **+ Add a block** from the menu.

On the menu that appears, select the **Latest announcements.**

The page will go back to the main mêskanâs page. At the bottom of the column on the right side of the screen, the new block will have appeared. Since the point of this block is to bring information to the attention of the students, or move the block higher up the column to a more prominent location. This can be done by clicking and dragging the move cursor (the four-pointed arrow).
