This tutorial will show you how to add a Kaltura video resource to your course.

## How to add a Kaltura video resource

With **Edit mode** turned on, navigate to the course section where you wish to add the video resource and click **+ Activity or resource**.

Click **Kaltura Video Resource** from the Add an Activity or Resource pop-up menu.

Give your video a title and add a brief description to explain the contents or subject matter in the video. Click the **Add media** button.

For this process to work, you must already have videos in your Kaltura media library. Locate the desired video from your My Media library and click the **</>Embed** button.

You will be taken to the edit screen if you select edit settings. Here you can adjust the embed size of the video by selecting your desired resolution from the drop-down menu adjacent to **Max Embed Size**. If only a portion of the video is necessary to view, you can adjust the start and end time by entering the values in the boxes underneath **Start & End Time**. When you are finished editing settings, click **Embed **in the top-right corner.

## Add a video resource settings

Most of these settings are fine left at default positions, but if you want to know about the various settings you can adjust, they are detailed below.

### Common module settings

Scroll down to **Common module settings** in the Assignment editor. You can select whether or not the assignment appears to students by selecting the box adjacent to **Availability**.

This can also be done on the course page by selecting the **Hide** icon from the three-dot menu.

You can enter an ID number in the box adjacent to the ID number to link a number within the gradebook. This can be useful if you have multiple assignments that are similar in nature. In the box adjacent to **Group mode**, you can choose **No groups**, which maintains individual work on the assignment,** Separate groups**, where group members can only see those in their own group, or **Visible groups**, where students work in their own groups but can see the other groups.

If you have pre-created groupings (collections of groups), you can edit settings for these in the drop-down menu adjacent to **Grouping**. For more detailed information on this, refer to the Using Groups in paskwâwi-mostos mêskanâs tutorial.

### Restrict Access

Scroll down to **Restrict Access** settings and select **Add restriction** adjacent to the **Access restrictions **menu item. Select the restriction you would like to apply to the assignment.

### Completion conditions

To track activity completion, select one of the choices in the **Completion tracking** drop-down menu. If you select **None**, the activity will not be tracked. Selecting **Students must manually mark the activity as done **will allow students to manually put a check in a box on the right of the activity.

### Tags

1. Adding tags to your assignment will populate that tag in the **Tag block** if you have that enabled, and it will enable your end users to search for tags in the Search bar.
2. To add a tag, you type the word you would like to make a tag into the Enter tags box and press Enter. A successfully created tag will appear as the word “philosophy” does below.
