**AUDIENCE: ****FUTURE STUDENT | PROSPECTIVE STUDENT | CURRENT STUDENT CHANGING PROGRAMS**

Each program has different ways an applicant can be eligible for admission. These ways are called categories of admission.

You can find all the categories of admission on the program page:

***[MacEwan.ca/Programs](http://macewan.ca/Programs)****** > in this section > admissions > requirements page. ***

Some programs have only one way to qualify for admission, and others may have three or more ways to qualify for admission. The most common categories of admission you will see are regular admission, mature admission, and previous post-secondary admission.

If you click on each admission category, you can read how you can qualify for that program and the specific courses / credits / grades you need to qualify.

| To be eligible for Regular Admission, applicants must present one or more of the following as stated in the program specific admission requirements:
- a high school diploma (or equivalent);
- required Grade 12 subjects (or their equivalents);

Mature applicants who present postsecondary courses may also have to meet a minimum admission grade point average (AGPA) requirement. | To be eligible under this category, applicants must present a post-secondary credential or a minimum of 18 or 24 credits, depending on the program specific admission requirements, and a minimum AGPA.
- Applicants admitted as a Previous Post-Secondary applicant are required to present all high school subject requirements as stated in the program specific admission requirements.
- Admission under the Previous Post-Secondary category does not imply that courses or credentials completed at another post-secondary institution will be eligible for transfer credit. |
