--- title: "Understand tuition remittance" canonical: "https://helpcentre.macewan.ca/space/OURKB/1357250583/Understand%20tuition%20remittance" format: markdown --- **AUDIENCE:  ****STUDENTS** MacEwan University will “remit” your tuition and fees directly from your loan when we confirm your enrolment to Alberta Student Aid. This means that, when we process your loan, we will ask that the amount for your tuition and fees be sent directly from the loan provider to MacEwan. After we confirm your loan, it will typically take 7-10 days for the funds to show up in your MyStudentSystem. You will receive any extra funds into your bank account before the funds appear on your student account. Note that we request an amount to be remitted when we confirm your enrollment. Adding and dropping courses after this date may change the amount you owe but will not change the amount of funding we have requested, which means that it may no longer cover all your tuition and fees. If your funding is not enough to cover your tuition and fees, you must pay the balance by the applicable payment deadline. If you dropped a course after we requested the remittance amount, the excess funds will be returned to Alberta Student Aid. If you are on loan funding and are unsure whether or not your tuition is paid, refer to your financial information found in myStudentSystem under the **Fees tile** - **Account Balance**.
