After this period, interest accumulates and you will have to start making payments. However, if you are going back to school, you can keep the interest-free status of your existing loan: 1. If you are receiving new funding before your repayment start date, your enrolment will be confirmed by your province or territory and educational institution, and no action is required. 2. If you are **not **receiving new funding, confirm your enrolment to keep your student loan interest-free while you are in school. This ensures you do not begin repayment while you are still studying. To confirm your enrolment, fill in a “Form B Confirmation of Registration-Reinstatement of Interest-Free Status for Alberta Student Loans”, available from the Alberta Student Aid website. 1. If you are returning to school as a full-time student and are not receiving new Alberta and/or Canada student loans, your Canada student loan will automatically be reinstated to interest-free status along with your Alberta student loan. 2. If you are returning to school as a part-time student, only the Alberta student loan will be reinstated to interest-free status. 3. If you only received Canada loans and are not receiving new funding, you can complete your confirmation of enrolment through the National Student Loan Service Centre (NSLSC) portal - Manage Your Loan section. It is very important that you visit your [Alberta MyLoan](https://myloan.studentaid.alberta.ca/) and [NSLSC](https://www.csnpe-nslsc.canada.ca/) portals approximately one week after you submit your Form B or confirmation of enrolment to ensure it has been received and processed properly. If there are any mistakes or issues with the submission of the online form, your student loans may enter repayment even if you are a full-time student.
