**AUDIENCE:  **<span style="color: #bf2600">**STUDENTS | STAFF**</span>

Registered students, staff or faculty members have access to the **MacEwanSecure** Wi-Fi network while at MacEwan University. Although a guest network access is available, MacEwan students and staff should access **MacEwanSecure** for faster speeds and better connections.

> ⚠️ **Eduroam Wireless for Visiting Post-Secondary Students/Staff **  
> ⚠️ Eduroam (EDUcation ROAMing) is a wireless network service that allows students, staff, and faculty from one post-secondary to access the Internet while visiting another post-secondary. When connecting to the **Eduroam **Wi-Fi network, enter your** full email address** as your username and your regular password.

> ⚠️ For easy access download the Eduroam certificate installer for your device: [https://cat.eduroam.org](https://cat.eduroam.org).

## Connecting to MacEwanSecure on Your Device

<details>
<summary>Windows Devices</summary>

1. Log in with your MacEwan username and password. Your username is the first part of your MacEwan email address (e.g. <u>**doej**</u>@macewan.ca).

2. When asked to continue connecting, click **Connect**.

<summary>Mac Devices</summary>

1. Log in with your MacEwan username and password. Your username is the first part of your MacEwan email address (e.g. <u>**doej**</u>@macewan.ca).

2. When asked to verify a certificate, click **Continue**.

3. Enter your local computer password and click **Update Settings**.

<details>
<summary>Android Devices</summary>

Your device may not need all these setting inputs, and not necessarily in this order — just enter what is requested.

> ⚠️ Some older Android devices may not be able to validate the domain and certificates, and will have to connect without validation. This is less secure and so, it is recommended Android users update to a newer OS.

1. EAP Method: set to **PEAP**
2. Phase 2 Authentication: set to **MSCHAPv2**
3. CA Certificate: set to **Use System Certificate**
4. Online certificate status: set to **Request Status** or **Default** if request status is not available
5. Domain: set to: **macewan.ca**
6. Identity: your MacEwan **username**
7. Anonymous Identity: ***leave*** ***blank***
8. Password: enter the same **password **you use for logging in to the portal.

<summary>iPhone/iPad Devices</summary>

1. Log in with your MacEwan username and password. Your username is the first part of your MacEwan email address (e.g. <u>**doej**</u>@macewan.ca).

2. When asked to accept a certificate, tap **Trust**.

2. EAP Phase 2 Authentication: **Automatic**
3. Server CA certificate: **Default**
4. Domain suffix match: **macewan.ca**
5. Identity: your MacEwan **username**
6. Password: enter the same **password **you use for logging in to the portal.
