You can set up a second device for your multi-factor authentication using:

- A phone number (voice call)
- A mobile device (text message)
- Smart phone or tablet (requires downloading the [Duo Mobile](https://duo.com/product/multi-factor-authentication-mfa/duo-mobile-app) application).

## Instructions

The following instructions demonstrate how to sign up using your mobile device. 

> ℹ️ You can assign multiple devices by repeating the steps for each device you want to add.

## Step 1. Enrol your device

1. Install the Duo mobile app for your phone.  
  • [Download Duo Mobile for iOS](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/duo-mobile/id422663827?mt=8)  
  • [Download Duo Mobile for Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.duosecurity.duomobile&hl=en)
2. Visit [https://identity.macewan.ca/myaccount/mfa](https://identity.macewan.ca/myaccount/mfa). You may need to log in.
3. Click on **Enrol for Multi-Factor Authentication**.
4. Click **Start Setup**.
5. Choose **Mobile Phone** and click **Continue**.

6. Enter your phone number. Confirm and click **Continue**.
7. Click **I have Duo Mobile Installed**.
8. A QR code will be displayed on your screen. Follow the directions to open Duo Mobile and scan the QR code. You can also have a link emailed to you. Once you’ve activated Duo Mobile, click **Continue**.
9. You’ve registered your device. Click **Dismiss**.

## Step 2. Set your connection preferences

If you enrol multiple devices (e.g. mobile, work phone, etc), you can set the preferences for each device.

1. Select your device.
2. Choose your authentication method from the **When I Log In** dropdown menu and click **Save**.   
If you’ll usually be using the mobile app on your phone, you may wish to choose **Automatically Send This Device a Duo Push**.
3. Select **Mult-Factor Authentication** from the menu on the left.
4. Test your device by clicking **Send Me a Push**.
